Mass Effect 2/3 Dance Mod Req

I have never been very effective with extracting or using a given model image files and applying them to a different character. IE taking Tali's skin and applying it to Liara in game, making all Liara scenes look like shes Tali. My personal request,(im surprised no one has tried it by now, or maybe there is a reason it doesn't work) Is for someone to extract the 4 versions of Miranda's dress (black, white. white w/ bra, black w/ bra) and apply her skin to Kelly so that we can enjoy Miranda's model performing Kelly private dance at the end of Mass Effect 2. Another cool thing I wish could be done his make her models do the dance in the Omega Club, as well as the club on the citadel in mass effect 3. If anyone knows of to achieve this easily, or has the skills to make it happen easily, would love to see quality recording thanks. Scene to which I am referring mainly is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y05inDPoQOQ

Probably the easiest way to achieve this is to use Gildor's UE Viewer to extract the Mass Effect 2 game files, and use the ActorX plugin to import the models and animations into 3ds Max. This will probably yield the best result if location isn't too important to you. Another way might be to use ME3Explorer to edit the Mass Effect game files, although I can't guarantee that it will completely destroy your game files.

I made a low quality export using the first technique I mentioned above. I didn't manage to get any results using ME3Explorer, but I'm pretty sure the guys behind ME3Explorer are working on functionality that will make it possible. It's probably not ready yet.

I was thinking along the lines of extracting the models, or using the model files already available and applying them through texmod in order to simply view the scene in the game engine, as I do not personally have 3dsmax, or the animation capability required to know the program well. The issue I was having was figuring out the "character code" to apply the given skin to the given character. IE taking the Miranda tex file which is designed for her and applying it instead to Kelly in Game. If you are able to would you mind simply creating tex mod files with the kelly character code applied to them. i tried to figure this out for a few months but no luck. These are all of the Miranda tex mod files already extracted(designed for her character of course: http://www.moddb.com/games/mass-effect- ... randa-pack Thanks for the sample and the feedback!

If any one has a guide to explain how to apply any skin to any character in mass effect 2 and/or 3 please share it. I am a little knowledgeable with texmod, and I know where to get my skin files. I just don't know how to edit them and make them apply to other characters. IE. taking Miranda's skin mod file and applying ti to a charter other than Miranda. I know it's possible I just don't know how to do it. Also it may be slightly more complicated since Kelly switches from her normal outfit when in Sheppard's room, so if anyone has any tips for that please also share thanks.

I hope you do understand that Texmod simply changes the texture of the 3d model. There's not some magic going on that will completely change the physical appearance or geometry of the character. Applying Miranda's texture to Kelly's 3d model will probably lead to unsatisfactory results. To my knowledge, you can not inject 3d models into the game the same way that Texmod replaces textures. You can however change models for certain characters by changing variables in Coalesced.ini, although I am not sure if you can easily change those of NPC's as well. By doing this, you can fool the engine into loading other content packages. (like loading Miranda's 3d model instead of Kelly's) Take a look at these topics at the bioware forums: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/128/index/1180449/1, http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/103/index/889432/17. Something that might also complicate the process: Kelly's head consists of a seperate hair model and a generic head model. The head model is shared by many other characters in the game and customized per character using morph targets. If you were to replace Kelly's head model for Miranda's, the game might still try to apply the previously mentioned morphs to Miranda's face; which could deform her face into a weird shape or otherwise bug out the game. You'll probably have to dive in and experiment with some of the settings. Changing the settings might also lead to corrupted save files and game crashes, so be sure to back those up. It will not be as easy as just applying the skin through texmod or some other program. I honestly think it's more trouble than it's worth.

So clearly not as easy or simple as I thought it would be. I assumed since people were easily morphing their shepard's to look like other charter's it would be easy to make an in game character change. I will try this again perhaps in spring when I have a bit more time to mess around. Thanks for the tips and advice Ganonmaster, i'll try and post an update when I get a little more time and try all of the suggestions from bioware thread. Thanks again!
