SFM - Locking parts mid-animation?

Is it possible to lock the hand of a model to the spine of another when you are 10 secs into an animation? When I drag the hand onto the spine the little lock icon appears, but the hand does not follow the spine movement at all. The hand is manually animated for the first 10 secs, but after this I want to lock it to the spine and let SFM calculate the rest of it's movement, based on the other models movements.

Isn't it the other way around? Spine locked to hand? Not sure about what happens during mid animation though. Actually. Now I want to know this. It would become an issue for me as well if I'm to do longer animations.

There are 2 ways that I know of that can get this done; #1 you can lock it to the spine and then go into motion editor; set the green selector area to where the hand is where you want it and then use the playhead preset. #2 Split the shot into 2 clips by going to the frame where the hand gets to the spine and pressing b; then after that its just following #1.

You are right, I switched it around. :)

Awesome, doing #2 first and then #1 got it working for me. If I just did #1, it would make the hand go crazy during my first 10 secs of manual animation. Thanks a lot!
