Help with making gifs.

i need some help making gifs, for this one i used GIMP. i did render in 720p in and after i exported it from gimp it turned out like this: and here is a still render: is there any other way to make the gif better and higher quality?

What do you want to improve exactly? Gifs are just lower quality in general, so it's hard to make it look as great as the still. There is a slight "bump" at the end of it. You could try and remove that last frame, and see what it looks like. Also, check your animation and make sure your first and last set of keyframes are the same. I know SFM has a slight oddity too, when you blade your clip, cut it one frame after you last frame of motion, then use the Custom setting in the Export Movie option, and match up whatever your time-stamps are. I hope that helps, and doesn't sound to bad.

I export in like 720p and then I import the video file into sony vegas to export as a .avi to reduce size and to convert form mp4 to avi so I can import to photoshop and export as internet image that works well.

Couldn't possibly do it in a more complicated way. Just export it as a bunch of .pngs then some program to get them altogether into .gif format, there's some good programs for that sort of thing out there, I can't remember the name of one particularly good one though.
