SFM stability problems?

My friend has been having at least one to three crashes per hour in SFM, and he said he saw Moneyshot was having similar problems. Has anyone else been having problems with SFM crashing a lot lately, and if so, found any fixes for it?

Unless your computer is shit (intel graphics cards, low/mid range laptops, etc), it shouldn't crash. It's been stable for months. Verify your game cache to be sure. It could also be specific models, maps or materials that are causing problems.

Hmm, okay. Does SFM keep crash logs so we could see what's causing the errors by any chance?

SFM only drops memory dumps (.mdmp files) when it crashes and those won't help us without access to the SFM source code.(which we naturally don't have) All I can recommend is updating drivers, verifying game cache, and that kind of stuff. Also note that SFM uses a lot of RAM and Video RAM. I recommend that to run SFM reliably, you need at least 6GB of regular RAM and a videocard with at least 1GB of video RAM.
