Movable/Removable Clothing for Models

This maybe a bit of a stupid request, but I think it would be awesome to have Movable clothing on the Rag-dolls. Now I don't mean in the Bodygroup way, but i mean in the way where the pieces of clothing on the model can be positioned separable and even stretched. One example would be the nude MegaBeth Model with her movable Panties and Skirt. Or like Some of the standard TF2 characters, who's hats can be separated. This request is getting long already and i know that something like that isn't simple, as this means one must create separate models for each clothing, but it would just be great if each models clothing piece could be manipulated separable. I mean you could then put it onto other models, or position them in a way where the pants for example are only halfway down, or even just simply have them on the floor as discarded clothing. Again sorry for long request :????: , but it would be amazing to have something like this more often on models.

This would be a dream come true, I can just imagine all the possibilities.

I'd love for this to be a reality. Heck, I'd just like generic sets of clothing that can be placed in a sceen.

I'm no modeller, but one way I think we can do this is to have an invisible model, like the headless male body. The invisible skeleton will have multiple bodygroups for tops, bottoms and shoes that can be mixed and matched. The clothing can then be posed over an existing nude body and viola! a partially dressed figure!

Well as far as I think I know, you can spawn a model which contains multiple models on it already, again like MegaBeth, who not only comes nude, but also with a removable skirt, tie and panties. they can be turned invisible through the Bodygroup system if not needed. It just be great if more models could do that, since not only could you have the model look anyway you like, but also remove these clothes and apply them onto other models. of course the separate clothing models would need bones that can be stretched into any preferred way, which is the more annoying part, as some models come with a huge amount of clothing pieces.

This would require every model to have it's own clothing bodygroups. What I'm talking about is generic clothing on an invisible skeleton that can be posed along side an existing nude figure. Similar to the headless generic nude male body and the headless generic nude female body Plasmid's been working on.

Wow, that actually sounds even better. The invisible model could have then like multiple clothing pieces, from pants to shirt pieces, which could be changed with the bodygroups to maybe get new clothing, example changing a regular t-shirt to a tank top or something. Or did ya mean like multiple invisible models that all have 1 of each clothing piece each. Sorry if i got that wrong.

Bingo! Yup one invisible skeleton with multiple bodygrouped clothing that can be mixed and matched. Similar to how Nahka's models handle clothing. It would be a monumental undertaking to gather all those clothing assets though. :(

Not only that. Since the clothing would need to fit on multiple models, which could have completely different body's, the clothing would need to be poss-able so that they can be properly put onto the models.

So the way to do this, it would only work on certain models kinda deal 1.body groups can have flexes 2.poseible clothes would be a mess in gmod the best way to do this, and it would be more of a SFM only kinda thing. make a shirt model thats rigged, that will fit the one body, then add flexes to it for pulling up ect, youd need to post the shirt with the body(lots of clipping) second way is to just not have bodygroups for the clothes and add removing them as a flex, like back in the old gmod 9 days...

What about making the shirts and such a prop for use with the joint tool?

Hey guys just so you know, you can search "sakarias88' in youtube, look at his videos and find the video about clothes in gmod. He made this pretty cool mod that looks like a flag/cloth thingy.

This pretty much is already a reality, cause there is like multiple people porting the models from here and other 3D programs to Second Life (www.secondlife.com) and making their clothes removeable. Cause appearantly they finally got mesh to work on there and I noticed alot of the models popping up on the marketplace.

If you are making a new model - you can make clothes "bodygrouped" with bonemerging. If you saw that guy from Witcher in workshop, you know what I mean. If i get it right, you have head, rigged to whole skeleton and it has whole phys model including hands, body, legs and all that stuff. Than you have a body models. I guess they need to be rigged to same bones, but without collision model. I'm not a pro, I just heard a bit about it.
