How do you guys deal with that? I was working on this kokoro girl for like 2 hours, doing all the flexes and shit. And today I came home, it was still there. It was pretty much ready to export... And then, I decide to play a game of league of legends and then FUCKing my computer freezes. And then i come back open blender and my blender file is corrupted. There's no cure. as the long backups it automatically does has corrupted data and only saves like half of it. So now I have to start alll over, and do like 60 fucking flexes... I really want to stab my laptop right now for being such a piece of shit, never freezes on me until recently.... What do you guys do if technical difficulties impairs your process of animating, modeling? I'm so fucking angry right now. :x Wanna go like super saiyan 4 and punch holes on the mooon :x :x :x :x

First mistake: playing a videogame instead of saving your file and closing the program. Second mistake: not setting up autosave correctly. Third mistake: not backing up your work in progress files. Fourth mistake: playing League of Legends. Go play a real game like DotA.

Seriously, if you set up a model, textures and 60+ flexes without making a single backup of your file, you're doing it wrong. Software, especially 3d modelling software, crashes all the time and as a 3d artist, you should take precautions.

Maybe vent it on twitter in 140 characters or less and move on. Moping around and flipping tables won't bring your files back. I also wouldn't go around looking for sympathy, because I know that most of the times, when shit gets truly fucked up, I could have done something to prevent it.

Have a few drinks? Seriously, though, I've been burnt more than once by such situations and have become a bit paranoid as a result. I rarely lose more than a few minutes of work these days even when faced with catastrophic circumstances (hard drive failure, e.g.) I have Blender set up to retain the last 30 copies of any file and I make it a habit to save frequently. I also decreased the auto-save time to 3 minutes from the default 5, and I have incremental system backups running to local drives (updating every 15 minutes) and offsite using BackBlaze ($5 a month unlimited offsite backup of one computer). For today, I suggest doing something that doesn't involve the computer, and then tomorrow or the next day, do some disaster prep so it won't happen again.

Uhhh. The save function is such bs. Oh well, like you said, I'm gonna modify the save routine and apparently my laptop overheated cuz something switched back on and allowed it to run at maximum performance.... Well, gonna drown my sorrows with some cute videos of babies and animals :p
