I suppose this fits here. Not really a tutorial perse, but I think actually watching someone work in the environment to make an actual, non-trivial production can be helpful in its own way. I may write a tutorial, or at least a few tips and tricks, over the next few weeks (cuz let's be realistic, I can't get anything done in just a few days). It's the video I made of myself making an animation in the SFM. [naughtymachinima:zbdncfze]cd518e1efdc0e20b70c3[/naughtymachinima:zbdncfze] Direct Link Naughtymachinima embed code edit by Evil-Ash

I seem to have a problem with rigging models(Jack and Miranda)I press the rig_biped_simple.But nothing changes. When I try it on tf2 models it works no problem. Can you help?

Some of the custom models, like a few on this forum, have custom skeletons and won't work with rig_biped_simple, you should check the models sub-forum to see if anyone has made a rig for the character you're working with.

Im going to sleep soon so I cant check if any of these videos have what i need, but I need help animating in SFM. I already have the two characters posed and a smooth transition to the second part of the animation, but I can't seem to figure out how to loop the animation. I want the animation to return back to the pose from the first frame, but can't figure out how to duplicate the original pose and have the second pose transition back to the first frame at the end of the animation. Help?

Select all the keys in the first frame, ctrl+c to copy, move the timeline to the last frame and use ctrl+v to paste. If the bones do not have starting keys you'll have to make them (this is unnecessary for those that won't move during the scene).

I'm working on my first animation, and I need some major help with posing. I noticed that you used the move tool to move around Rebecca's arm, and it ended up looking really good. However, I use the rotation tool exclusively, and it ends up looking wonky as hell alot of the time. But trying to use the move tool ends up with disturbingly stretched limbs when I do it. Is it the model that won't allow me to do it? And do you have any general tips for posing?

When using the move tool, you first need to load an IK rig for the model.

Oh, I see now. Thanks a ton! Seems I need to make a custom IK rig for the model, but I found another tutorial for that.
