GFYCat BBcode for faster loading

Hey there guys, here's a little update for the guys who like making and viewing animations. GFYCat is a gif/video hosting service that allows you to upload your videos and turn them into gifs. But here's the good part: the gifs are also turned into HTML5 videos. "Why" you ask? Because HTML5 video can potentially be 16 times smaller than a GIF file. Example: GIF -- 4.5MB HTML5 -- 286KB [gfycat:gdh6dz0r]AlertSpicyBlueandgoldmackaw[/gfycat:gdh6dz0r] But it gets even better. HTML5 video is very versatile. You can slow it down, speed it up, or pause and analyze frame by frame. Recently, I've see a lot of gifs almost hitting the 50MB of Pomf.se, which is a waste of both pomf.se's webspace, but also of the bandwidth of the people visiting the site. Load times on gif heavy threads on DE are pretty high because GIFs start loading before the entire page is done rendering. By the time those pages have fully loaded, some of our members with slower connections will have already died of old age. But the most important thing is: this hurts DE's statistics and in turn our search engine ranking. This is why I added the GFYCat BBCode. You can now embed your animations without having to grab the heavy GIF files. How to use: Go to GFYCat, upload your GIF and grab the name that GFYCat assigns to your file from the address bar. Then include it in your post like so:
[gfycat]your gif name here[/gfycat]
For example, the GIF above. The address in the address bar would look like http://gfycat.com/AlertSpicyBlueandgoldmackaw You copy the red part of the URL and embed it like so:
[gfycat]AlertSpicyBlueandgoldmackaw[/gfycat]
Result: [gfycat:gdh6dz0r]AlertSpicyBlueandgoldmackaw[/gfycat:gdh6dz0r] And there you go. Please let me know if you find any bugs. I am aware that gifs with really big dimensions kind of break the layout, so no need to report on that. Happy animooting! :)

Good bbcode, just find a way that adapts the size of forum. Because here it distorts the forum.

Hahaha Damn you, you right, But often you say so uninteresting things that it is true that it is hard for me to read you. So i don't do it. Next time can you try to get a bbcode 100% functional, before release it? Any way, good job, keep it up kid. :great: If you need help you can ask.... Nha forget it  Oh and can you move this post on the right section please? Like Here (I would not touch your stuff, so as not to offend you.) And sorry again but it is not necessary to put it in announcement (Yeah I know you are proud of your work (and you're right), but it is not a reason). Thank you, and thx for read my poor english. ;)

Doesn't distort anything for me. Could be more of a browser related thing...

I don't know, It only distorted one post so it wasn't much of an issue. What's the point of video that I have to scroll through?

The BBcode has been updated and gfy animations should now automatically resize to fit the forum width. You might have to refresh your browser cache to see the changes. Please let me know if anything is broken.

Fantastic work Ganon! I can finally load a boatload of animations on one page without my browser self-destructing :v. It also gives us an option to download an animation as a gif if we so please without actually having a bunch of 720p-1080p gifs loading at once.
